HPD Cambridge, Inc. was established in 1988 by David L. Sanders. HPD's goal and philosophy is to enhance the life of the senior resident by maintaining a life-style which fosters independence. David Sanders has a Bachelors degree in Architecture from California State Polytechnic College in San Luis Obispo and a Masters degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. A registered architect in 5 states, Sanders is accredited by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Sanders' expertise has evolved over twenty-five years of research, planning, design and development in the senior living and health care industries. He was president of a nationally based architecture firm for fifteen years with a staff of almost one hundred employees. He has pioneered the "mixed-use" retirement community which combines residential, commercial, retail, cultural, and institutional developments. HPD combines three disciplines specializing in Urbansenior housing development. Research, Planning/Design, and Development Services are the three disciplines which collectively provide the client with a variety of specialized services. HPD is very unique among developers, researchers, and designers in that its office is located within an Urban senior retirement campus.
